Nui Ba Den, Black Lady Mountain in Vietnam, is located roughly 100 km from Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda at Nui Ba Den, in a nutshell, was built in honor of Huong, a young married Vietnamese girl. Huong had been kidnapped by men, who according to Vietnamese translation of the story, intended to rape Huong. Huong decided that she rather die than be violated by these men and jumped off a cliff. Later she appeared in a vision to a Buddhist monk and the legend of Ba Den was started. The day that Sally and I visited Nui Ba Den, it was very hot. We did not stay long due to the heat.
