Ogasawara-shotō (Ogasawara Islands) are Tokyo's tropical islands in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Ocean (near Muko Island, Yomeshima Island, Ototojima Island, Hahajima Island and Anejima Island). These islands are so called "the Galapagos of Asia" because the islands have been totally isolated since its birth, which led to the development of many endemic species similar to the Galapagos Islands. The best destination to snorkelling, swimming and hiking.
Currently it is the only way to go to Ogasawara Islands. It leaves Takeshiba Sanbashi at Port of Tokyo once a week and arrive at Futani Port in Chichi-jima after almost 30 hours. We tend to forget that it is part of Tokyo.
