Andhra Pradesh is a state in Southern India. Andhra Pradesh lies in the south eastern region of India, with Bay of Bengal on the east and shares boundaries with Orissa on the north, Tamilnadu on the south and Karnataka on the west.

Hyderabad, the 400-year-old city is the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Diverse cultures and a fusion of old-world-charm and profound IT influence that makes it known as the second Silicon Valley of India after Bangalore, it has several monuments in and around the city that are worth seeing. Kurnool that has been the capital of Andhra Pradesh for three years from 1953 to 1956 is situated on the shores of River Tungabhadra. Vijayawada, 275 km from Hyderabad serves the triple purpose of being a major commercial, pilgrim and tourist destination of Andhra Pradesh. Warangal was once the capital of the Kakatiya rulers and has beautiful lakes, temples and wildlife. The thousand-pillar temple here is very famous. The eastern Andhra Pradesh, situated on the shores of Bay of Bengal, offers beautiful beaches of the beach city, Vishakapatnam, which is also a major shipbuilding centre. Of course, the world's richest temple of Tirupati Tirumala Balaji dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, boasts of the biggest draw of crowds consisting of both pilgrims and the casual tourists. Anantapur is known as a pilgrimage centre and has a fort of its own. Eluru is famous for its thriving woolen pile carpet industry.
