
Horsham is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the western part of the state. It has an area of 4,239 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 18,000. It was formed in 1995 by the merger of the City of Horsham, most of the Shire of Wimmera and Shire of Arapiles, and part of the Shire of Kowree.
The region is the site of many fine lakes and a Wimmera River system and in normal seasons is extremely popular with fishing, boating, swimming and water enthusiasts.
