Sausalito

Sausalito is in California, across the Golden Gate bridge from San Francisco. Sausalito is a unique community, perched on a hillside between the San Francisco Bay and the Marin Headlands.

Due to its location at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito receives a steady stream of visitors via the bridge (auto and bicycle traffic) and a ferry service from San Francisco. It retains one of the few ungated marinas in the Bay Area that attracts visitors.

Walk About Most of the frequently visited waterfront area can be seen on foot and is easy walking distance from the ferry landing. Make sure to head north on your walk along Bridgeway to Caledonia Street - it's full of great stores, restaurants, cafes and art studios and has a great event every 2nd Wednesday of the month called "Artwalk".
