Central Kentucky is the area consisting of the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, 80 east of Louisville and 80 south of Cincinnati. The region is notable for its horse farms and more progressive politics as compared to the rest of the state (the only openly gay state legislator, Ernesto Scorsone, was elected from Lexington, and the cities of Frankfort and Georgetown, plus the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, have enacted smoking bans in public places).
