Badakhshan is a Northe East province of Afghanistan, the capital of Badakhshan is called Faizabad, Badakhshan devided in to 30 district. Badakhshan constitutes a distinct ethno-linguistic and religious community. The ethnic Pamiris, an Eastern Iranian-speaking people, probably originated in Badakhshan. The origins of Pashto, another Eastern Iranian language, are also believed to have probably occurred in this region.[1] Pamiris are descendants of the earlier East Iranian speakers who had populated the region by around 2000 BC. In the western part of Afghan Badakhshan, Tajiks and Uzbeks are the dominant groups. The main religion of Pamiris is Ismaili Islam, some follow Sunni Islam. The people of this province have a rich cultural heritage, noted for its preservation of ancient forms of music, poetry and dance that have been lost in many other parts of Central Asia.
